Do you know what it feels like to be unsupported as a special education teacher? Are you unclear about special education and Individualized Education Programs as a teacher, an administrator, parent/guardian, or trustee?  Have you ever felt isolated on a campus? Are the needs of the diverse learners in your class or school ignored? Have you sat in a professional learning session or professional development and felt it did not apply? I get it. I’ve been there for sure.

As a youth I became a high school drop out because my brilliance was not leveraged for my learning.  As an educator, I know what that feels like to be underdeveloped; having to seek my own professional learning, watching the brilliance of youth silenced, and given limited access to resources and opportunity because they receive Individualized Education Program services. My mission is to ensure that all educators who work with diverse learners and diverse learners get the support they need, and their brilliance is leveraged for their personalized learning.  Therefore, I support with building cultures and climates that center on humanity and leverage the brilliance, creativity, and innovative ideas of diverse learners.
